CountyRoad Farms was created by Jennifer & Paul Callahan. They tried freeze dried fruit for the first time in 2016 and got so excited about the taste that they decided to start their own business to share the experience. Today CountyRoad Farms provides 18 different types of freeze dried snacks that taste as good as it did when it was picked fresh from the vine… and it lasts for years! Not only does it taste great, but it also retains 99% of the original nutrition… so you can feel comfortable knowing you’re eating healthy. Our products are 100% fruit and contain no additives or preservatives, and they are gluten free.
We start with fresh fruit from local suppliers, and we are picky buyers! We wash, slice, flash freeze… then freeze dry all of our snacks to maintain maximum freshness. The fruit is then packaged in resealable bags to retain their original fresh taste for 2 years, so you can eat them now or save them for a rainy day when fresh fruit or snacks are not readily available. The containers are resealable, so you can save it for later if you decide you don’t want to eat it all in one sitting.
Benefits of Freeze Dried Food
Freeze dried food is remarkable because it causes no damage to the nutrition of the food being preserved, and it retains the taste and color. Other methods of preservation, such as canning and dehydrating, use higher temperatures that can destroy more than half of the food value. They also usually contain added sugars and/or preservatives.
